What would be the best Idea for something new on the Site?

Top 50 skins of all time-- with pics and links updated monthly

A betas sections where people can go one place to get all our WIP
with pics and also new code there too.

I really like the idea of the top 50 skins of all time. MMD3, Drone and all the legondary themes all in one place... that would get some attention.

I think it might be time for a fresh design for the site too, but thats just my opinion

i am working on a general site rework, featuring a new design that features elements of this style (layout, logo), but the appearance is more user-friendly with more white colors and not so overloaded grey.
The forum will then be updated to wbb3 (now wbb2) and the whole site will be incorporated withing our forum software

the top 50 is cool! but better limit to top 20 and randomize skins every month - or add polls

yep top 20 is enough, too much too soon might kill it

not only that but the site will need to be rehit by the bots again when the update happens for re-indexing

i think some polls on what users would like to see in skins

for example the rgb stuff, more xui components, more 3d type stuff, more rotational type vizzes (i have a mapped version coming vsoon rather than using frames and also a 3d version of a rotational viz) etc...
we need to try and speed up the skinning process from a code pov and the best way is to go xui

which means we can reuse stuff quicker and keep bugs to a minimum as code will have been tested with the xui components/objects over time

i think we should have a top skin list of max 20 skins. but i dunno how we should prog this, since we have no lib for all skins on wa.com. perhaps we just give the users 10 credits they can give on max 10 skins, but no more than 3 at one skin at once.
then we count the credits of all skins to gether, and create a plain html file with skin thumb from wa.com and embedd it somewhere on our page.

I think a better way to rate skin is rate them under different categories - top ten each under the following categories

minimalistic
old school
futuristic
brand inspired
etc.

Lesser the number of categories the better.

I honestly feel that this can only be a one-time process. Once you create a list of top 20 skins by any of the means like voting, download count, etc., it's not going to change much. People will lose interest soon.

So what I think is that we can take monthly one category and make the process of selecting the top 20 itself a fun. This can go on for each month till we use up all the categories. Older categories shall be updated each month in parallel.

Best will be too makd a new forum called awards. Then the senior forum people can choose x number of skins for a catagory. Then the forum user vote for the top x. New catagory each month with maybe a new entry catagory too. We can then revisit certain catagories later.

Woo! I'm no54... Cant someone write a extrator that can get all the numbers. Can do it manualy in excel. Some of the skins there dont deserve to be there though... We can make a top 50 with own short reviews. Maybe we can have our own skin website. Something like 1001winamp skins. People can then upload there skins. Dont have to be a system. They can just email it and then we can do it manualy. No classic skins please
