Having some second thoughts on the small display of the kbps, khz, mb's & stereo stuff... Its just too small. Any suggestions?

PS: Saw the new Audi R8 on the road today(going +-160km/h)..... aagh... what a beauty!

For submission to winamp.com, should these skins have a seperate category?
Just a category for only Classic Pro skins might be asking a bit too much though.
I might be able to swing a SUI category, for Classic Pro and other SUI skins.

i think SUI is prolly best, would be nice to have a cPro category, I reckon its going to get popular at some point in the not too distant future amongst classic skinners wanting to make the jump to modern

btw, how is the bahaviour of cPro skins when loading and no cPro is installed? is there an error message?

No error message, but it's not pretty.

The classic main loads, no equalizer. The playlist, video and library windows are skinned, kind of. Like the old Winamp3 default skin with the grey theme. Only the text colors are taken from the cPro skin.

yea it should handle that, same as the mspp handling, altho the cPro skin should not work at all if cPro is not installed, must surely be a slight miscalculation heh

Gona try to add something that just pops a pop up box that ask if you wana download cPro plugin... and if you click no, it will switch to the Winamp Classic skin. This will all be added in the skins.maki file with each skin.

A Sui section would be very cool indeed!

Here is whats on the To Do list for cPro... also nominated some specialist to do the work... if they have the time ;)

Browser (martin.deimos)
  • Browser must be implemented with all its Config stuff
  • Remove all the gfx of text and replace it with <text/> objects
  • Change default first page to a local page installed with cPro
  • Add gfx for custom editboxes & buttons


Update system (martin.deimos)
  • Would it be posible to have the same type of update system that Winamp2006 used?
  • Want the user to know when theres a new version of cPro out



ClassicVis (SLoB)
  • Add a timeline vis mode to the current list.... using the already present gfx of the colors of the classicvis... each bar can be 2pixels wide...or what ever works for you ;)



Extra "Big Bento gfx" (Quadhelix)
  • Still need custom gfx for the playlist tab... must match the type of gfx of the other BigBento tab component buttons.
  • Always on top button
  • Toggle Drawer



Wasabi:Frames must resize to their original width if the the skin is resized bigger... if they was previously resized smaller because the skin was to small..... aka... frames must resize back (pjn123.....would be cool if this was hard coded into all frame object... ;);))

    i still prefer a about box done by the skinner. or you slpit it up, so you have a 50px heigh footer for cPro promo, link to sc, and the rest is done by the skinner[/list]

    Will include a edited browser object with classicPro install.

    BTW: You should add that default Bento browser page to the Winamp installer..... really annoying to open the browser tab and have it loading a page without me doing anything ;)... keep people with slow connections in mind :P

    the default page was winamp.com, but we decided to do a custom one ;)
    btw, rclick on home and set your current page the default one

    Hello...is there a button to add new files in this new winamp skin you guys made? i cant find any, only open new files but then i lose all my playlist.

    its being added in for next build i think (if not already in 0.8?), i mentioned it in a previous post and i think its getting semi transparent buttons for defaults but you could also skin those too if you wanted, so they are coming ;)

    cPro is still in beta phase atm and I'm sure you guys will stick with it to help iron out the bugs while it gets to a stable build

    Version 0.08 isnt availible yet....


    What do you guys think of the follow 2 things:
    - Must I add a button the open/close the rightside frame slider? Some people dont even know about it ;)
    - Gona increase the size of the xfade a few pixels..?

    Yes, the next cPro version already have the semi transparent buttons... just need someone to make the playlist ones.

    @Mexeyz: You can still use the normal(non tab) playlist... just take your mouse to the right side(black line) and drag the playlist frame open.

    from a design, implementation and user pov:-
    Yes ;)
    This is a must have in terms of making the UI intuitive, there are pros and cons of where you add it tho, for example most of the time this sort of control is centred, however in the case of this skin the window is scalable/resizable so the user must find the centre of the skin each time, but if you position this top (or bottom) of skin, the user does not have to adjust to the skin dimensions and immediately knows its at the top

    also bear in mind Fitts Law or simpler economy of motion
